Caregiver - Client Aide - Life Unlimited - PAYROLL

Under the supervision of the Senior Program Coordinator and Program Instructors, you will help to provide care and support to clients in their daily needs. The caregiving aide will assist in physically transferring clients throughout the day for various needs and will provide care in the areas of restroom bathrooming, feeding, health and hygiene. It is required that all repositioning activities and use of restroom are documented. You will consistently ensure client’s safe arrival and departure to and from the facilities. Ultimately you will assist our client population in some of their most intimate needs while working with and supporting Program Instructors fulfill each client’s person-centered-plan.


- Minimum 6 months experience working with developmentally disabled adults. CPR, First, Aid C.N.A. certificate desirable. Basic knowledge of client rights and the ability to meet the ever-changing support needs of the Life Unlimited clients.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires physical interaction with clients such as lifting and moving clients from wheelchairs, re-positioning clients and other possible activities. Transferring non-ambulatory clients always requires at least two, (2), support team members; Lifting: must be able to lift at least 50 lbs., Walking, Bending, squatting, pushing, pulling; Health Screening Required


• Provide support services to the assigned clients often at either a 4:1 ratio or a 6:1 ratio may be asked to assist with other clients. Assist and support Program Instructors as needed.
• Assist clients into the facility from the busses and assist clients out of the facility to the busses for departure. NEVER LEAVE A CLIENT UNATTENDED WHILE WAITING FOR THE BUS.
• Assist in transfer of clients for changing (bathrooming, adult diapers, etc.), observing proper transferring techniques, health and hygiene. Document all instances of transfers, repositioning, and use of restroom facilities and assisted bathrooming. Transferring clients and changing always requires at least two support team members.
• Assist in feeding the clients during snack breaks and lunch.
• Assist clients during ambulation as needed.
• Non-ambulatory clients: assist with all transferring as required. Transferring clients always requires at least two support team members.
• Assist clients to their designated group locations after changing, lunches, exercise and outings.
• Regularly re-position clients according to their needs, goals or schedule.
• Assist and support Program Instructors as needed.
• Assist in chore duties and cleaning as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
• Additional duties as assigned.

FLOATER DUTIES (Life Unlimited Only):
• Designated daily floaters duties are to assist in the following:
• Float from group to group and provide help to the Program Instructors.
• Help may include: transferring clients, re-positioning clients, taking clients to restrooms, changing clients, supervising clients while the Instructor uses the restroom, and other requests from the Instructors or Program Coordinator
